Bojnice Castle attracts thousands of tourists with its lovely fairy tale towers. It is popular place for weddings and social events. One of the favourite events is international festival of ghosts and spirits taking place beginning of may. History of Bojnice Castle
A stronghold in Bojnice was first mentioned in written documents in the beginning of 12th century. First official owner became Mathew III. Csak in 1302. In the 15th century it was favourite place of Mather Corvinius, who signed here most of the documents and who allegedly sat under the old lime-tree. It was redesigned to renaissance château in 16th century by the Thurzós family, later the Palfy family gave the Bojnice castle the romantic look. The castle was reconstructed after fire in 1950 and the museum was founded.
Even though I have seen Bojnice castle several times I am sure I will come back and visit it again. Bojnice are awesome place for a pleasant summer weekend.
